Slight defect in skates

Hi, just got a pair of one95s and on the left skate, where the toecap is sewn onto the boot, it feels like the nylon? stiching has come off on the inside. It's too far inside the boot to see, but it feels like prickly nylon thread. Anyway, is there anyway to deal with it. It's poking into the big toe area. I'm thinking of either 1) using scissors, 2) melting it using a lighter, or 3) buying a pad to cover the area. No. 3 seems like a good idea but i've never been able to get those things to stick on for a long time.

Any ideas?

A couple things I've done in the past...put a piece of duck tape over the rough spot. It sticks pretty well and gives it some cush. You could also try wrapping a piece of stick tape around your toe or a band-aid.
