Bauer X:60 Stick two-piece setup

Recommended Posts

I know that there have been many discussions on the differences between OPS and two-piece setups, but my question is specific to the new(ish) Bauer X:60 in the two-piece setup. I searched and did not find discussions on this.

My question is regarding the new "intelli-sense" flex technology. It seems that this technology would work differently in a 2-piece setup than it would in a OPS. Does anyone know if this would be true? I just find it hard to believe that the stick would perform the same if it is constructed in two pieces, then fused, versus a TRUE molded one-piece design. Does anyone (with actual expertise) have any insight on this? Would the differences, if any, be major, minor, unnoticeable, etc??

Thanks in advance.

I'm probably not going to be entirely helpful, but I bought the two-piece after hearing the OPS broke at the blade a lot.

As far as having the intelli-sense, I can definitely tell that there are distinct flex-points depending on where your bottom hand is.

In terms of how much different it is from the OPS, I can't tell you, as I haven't used the OPS. I can tell you, however, that I love the combo so far.

For the $40 difference, I'd personally go with the two piece until they come out with a batch that doesn't seem to break as much...

It does seem to have the two flex zones though I will admit I used mine for one warm up and then a separate pick up game. Maybe I wasn't used to it but the shots felt very inconsisent (took mostly wrist/snap, very few slappers) and the shaft felt pingy even with a plug in the end. Blade was poor...very hollow feeling when receiving passes.

If you want a two piece and have other options I'd check those out first. Lots of 2pc users on here w/ quality input. Of course this is just my 2 cents.
