english15x 3 Report post Posted February 11, 2010 I will be heading up to Long Island for work 2/22 - 2/26any rinks around that area that offer pickup at night?
cdoug55 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2010 Check the sites for Long Beach Ice Arena they may have some times. Most of the rinks dont have much in the way of open hockey. Syosset (which you can check via the Midnight Hockey website...just google midnight hockey li) has times during the week I believe, but its a mini rink and expensive, so I don't think you want to go there.Edit: Also, there is a THursday night game at Cantiague that is run by the owner of Wheelin Willies (skate shop in Wantagh). You could call up the shop and sign up to play.
dalebert 8 Report post Posted February 11, 2010 If you're going to try the Iceworks route, just as a heads up its played on the small rink, which is significantly smaller then a regular size rink but its actually pretty fun keeps the game pretty tight. cdoug55 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2010 Oh so youll be on the North Shore? Yeah not sure you want to hike to brooklyn. I forgot to mention this before, but you can check out Port Washington which has Tuesday night open hockey. I think the time is 10:30 or so. That is alsoa smaller rink, but its not like the mini rink in Syosset. Its actually not a bad rink to play pick up games on because you just won't be as tired. The Mafia Line 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2010 I'll be working near Long Island Jewish Hospitallol, I was born at that hospital...24 years ago...anyway... your real close to Iceworks and about a 20 minute drive to World Ice Arena in Flushing meadow park. They have open on Friday and Saturday Night. Aviator is a bit further away but they have a good choice of nights for open hockey. check out their sites.
