Wood stick patterns vs Composite

Recommended Posts

I bought a wood easton stick (Forsberg curve) to replace my TPS Afingenov, as I wanted the same lie, but wanted to wean myself off the hook.

Strange thing is that despite both patterns are listed as a 5 lie in the database, the Forsberg is playing/wearing like a much lower lie than the Afinogenov, despite the stick cut to identical lengths.

Question: I know that there are some variation in curves between wood/composite pattern equivalents, but do the lies typically vary as well?

Years ago I bought some P31 TPS wood tapered blades through JR. Man, I was so disappointed that they were not even close to the composite TPS P31 blades! For current wood tapered blades, so far the Bauer P91 X60 wood blade is close to the comp version. The Easton Drury SE16 wood blade is not like a Drury comp blade.
