highslot84 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2010 Does anyone have problems with heat rash or skin irritation after playing? I've tried searching but came up w/ nothing specific. We play in a very warm rink here in Maryland and it's becoming painful to play 1 or even 3 games. The worst part is where my tongue on my skates presses against my socks. Anyone have any other issues like this?I wash all my undergarments after each time I skate.

chuffy 2 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 Go see a doctor and get him to prescribe you some steroid ointment and an emulsifying cream.Use the steriod cream on the bad areas of your skin to help get it under control and then move on the the emulsifying cream which will hydrate your dry skin.I have had eczema since I was a kid and it can be a nightmare to live with esp when mixed with hockey. As long as I use a little cream on any dry skin before I go to bed I can keep on top of it before if flares up causing a rash.Make sure to wash your sweats in non-bio washing powder for sensitive skin as sometimes the wrong powder can irritate your skin. I always take a shower straight after games & practice.your doctor will be able to help as the better ointments are not available over the counter from the drugs store.
