Girdle length

Can anyone with experience give guidance about the right length of a girdle?. For protection, it seems like should go to the top of the knee cap and overlap the shin guard a bit. For mobility, I'm concerned with the shin guard interfering. Do girdles tend to ride up a bit such that biasing long is better? Thanks.

I have the bauer one95 girdle and easton synergy girdle from 2009. They're both a senior size small, but i find the bauers run longer. The shorter eastons give me more mobility since it doesn't overlap the shin guards. I haven't had any problems with protection with the eastons, though they do not overlap the shin guards
