MattKingDelToro 2 Report post Posted May 2, 2010 I searched this topic and couldn't find anything, so sorry if this has already been discussed.I really want a pair of old Bauer Supreme 8000 skates (my foot's too narrow for the current Supremes and I have a man-crush on Joe Sakic which involves using the same gear he used), but they are quite hard to find these days. I need them in a 7, and I'm grabbing a used pair off eBay in a 6.I've been reading online that some LHS's can boot-stretch the skate up to a full size and a full width. Does anyone have experience with this? Does it matter that the skates are used and probably have been baked by the previous owner? Thanks for your help. drewptwo 1 Report post Posted May 7, 2010 About the most I have ever been able to stretch a skate is half of a size.
theelite 1 Report post Posted May 7, 2010 Never heard of stretching it to go up a full size...but width for sure can be punched to be wider..
electricjer 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2010 FWIW, I saw a whole bunch of pairs of 8000s in different sizes at Letterman Sports in Blaine, MN last fall during their tent sale. I think they had been around for a few years, so it might still be worth giving them a call.
MattKingDelToro 2 Report post Posted May 8, 2010 Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely call. They fit the same as Vapor X:60's, right?
