Summer AAA skating opportunities

Recommended Posts

Ok guys, I am hoping someone may have an idea here.

I have a big u18 aaa tryout the last weekend of july. I have done a skating camp and my organization's summer skates, but they end wednesday. This past weekend I did a junior showcase type thing, and I really feel that I need to keep skating with kids of that skill level for the next few weeks in preparation of my tryout. Does anyone have any ideas as far as where I could skate (even a weekend showcase type thing) in a setting with a relatively high skill level? I haven't done anything outside of CO this summer yet, so that may be a good option now.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

If you can get in on short notice and can afford it head up to MN hockey camps in Brainerd, MN. I left CO a year ago, so some of the skates may have changed but the USAH people have a skate fairly regularly on Tuesday nights at the Honnen rink in C. Springs. There also used to be a skate at The Edge rink that a bunch of Avs players skated in. You may just have to rink rat it and find out when private skates are and just show up and see if they need more people. There ought to be enough AAA guys and higher around the Denver metro for some decent skates.
