CCM 1052 Super Tacks vs 852 Super Tacks

Recommended Posts

I have seen the lengthy Tacks thread on this site but, unfortunately, it has not addressed my question. In short, I have been skating in CCM 852 Super Tacks for a while now and think that they are great. Obviously, they haven't made the Tacks line in many years and I have been looking for a backup pair since they fit my feet so well. Yesterday I stumbled upon a brand new pair of 1052 Super Tacks in my size and at a very favorable price. I realize that the 1052's will be stiffer than the 852's and it does look like the 1052's have a scalloped steel blade. Otherwise, can anyone tell me any other differences between the 852's and 1052's? I have been unable to find much information about them. Can anyone offer any reviews on the 1052's based on personal experience?

Thanks.

Jeff

They are a little stiffer than the 852's, different liner other than that pretty much the same. Awsome skates, I'd get them in a blink...

thanks Fredrik

Fredrik:

Update: I did pick up a brand new pair of the 1052 super tacks and wore them at a game the other night. It was well worth the patience and search and you can't beat a new, in-box price of $120 for them.

Nice pickup! Mine lasted for many years before I had to get rid of them (maybe 5-6 years of beer league and one of senior league at the end). I found that they get pretty ugly/beat up, but stay stiff for quite a while. I didn't like the Prolite 3 holders as much as the E-Pros I have on my current skates.
