Eastion Motion Elite Gridle vs S19 pants

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm looking around for a possible new pair of pants to replace the pair of used Bauer 4000 I bought last year. How does the protection compare in the Easton Motion Elite pants to the S19? Or, if there may be another pair that would be comparable, please suggest it. I'm looking for protection first, flexibility second.

PS, none of the LHS around my area has the motion elite so I can't judge it for myself.

I've used the S15 Motion pants, which is the model from the year before the Motion Elite, and I thought they were less protective than the S17 pants (previous model to S19) that I had. The Motion pants definitely had a lot more mobility though so it's one of those deals where you have to make the choice of mobility vs. protection. The Motion pants as I'm sure you know are almost like a girdle without the thigh guards as the thigh guards are incorporated into the outer shell. If you fit a size Adult Small, I'll send you the pair I had....used them 3 times and then was given a pair of Sande "The Show" pants, which were the best pants I've ever used, so the S15 Motions have just been sitting in a box ever since. Let me know if you want the pants. Pay the shipping and they're yours.

FishStick, thanks for the offer. I'm afraid I'm a Jr. Medium/Large fit. Your pair might be a bit too large on me. I recently had a bad fall and landed pretty hard on my sacrum. I'm pretty sure it's time for new pants and a pair to emphasize the protection on the spine.

How is the spine protection on the Warrior pants? Or, which brand/model tends to offer best protection on the spine?

Warrior's Hitman is described as 'Warrior's exclusive SpineTek system with advanced bubble coccyx protection comfortably cradles and protects lower back and spine' per Hockey Monkey. I'm curious to know what is the difference between the Hitman and the Hustler that costs almost a hundred bucks more.

Thanks.
