Dolom1te 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2010 Warrior KGBFlex: 85Curve:Kremlin (Pro Ovechkin Clone)Height: 6"Weight: 160Age: 17Postition: RW/CLevel of hockey: AAATime-frame of use: One MonthAesthetics: Designed to have a Russian theme because of Ovi, the stick looks great. As all warrior sticks, attention to detail, and colour choice were outstanding. Russian (and Washington) colours were chosen with red being the main one. Looks a lot better in person than in picture. Perfect aesthetics for what they were trying to achieve and an overall great looking stick.10/10Weight and Balance: A little heavier than most top end sticks, weighing in at 470 grams according to retailers. A tiny bit blade heavy which i don't mind at all, but i know some would. 8/10Blade: The blade itself seems much like the blades used in the original dolomite's which i am a huge fan of. the blade feels great when passing and recieving passes as well. The curve itself is also great. The Kremlin may be a tad off what ovechkins pro pattern really is, but it is a great curve to shoot and pass with once you get used to it. Saucer passes become very easy, and my accuracy and power when shooting has improved.10/10Shaft/Flex: The shaft is also very comparable to the original dolomites. It feels great with the concave walls on both sides and the grip has not started to peel yet. It is a tapered shaft which i love and the shaft is exactly as advertised. It is most comparable to the hitman shaft, which i believe is similar to the original dolomite. 9/10Stickhandling and Passing: Great stick for stickhandling once you get used to it. You have complete control over the puck on the forehand, and toe drags are a breeze. I have been able to pull off a lot more dekes with full control over the puck.Passing is great, although because of the curve it takes some time to adjust. my first passes all fluttered because of the curve, but now every pass is near perfect everytime.9/10Shooting: The stick is great for shooting. The shaft kicks great, and i get tons of power into every shot i take. I am able to shoot from nearly anywhere in the opposing end and believe it has a strong chance of going in due to the velocity and accuracy that i can get from this stick.10/10Durability: So far its durability has been great and it has showed less wear than the typical warriors i have used. The blade is the only area with some chips and that is normal at the level of hockey i play. the stick shows no signs of any durability issues and i honestly believe the stick will still last for a while yet.10/10Overall: Overall this is one of the best sticks i have owned. I originally purchased it solely because of the curve, but now i love the overall feel, durability, and shot velocity i can get out of it. It's too bad that this is a limited edition stick because i would like to use this model in the future if/when my current one breaks. 9/
Dolom1te 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2010 update:sadly, 10 days after warranty, the blade of the stick broke. I wish i could order another one, but just don't have the money, or the time to wait for it to be shipped to me in canada right now. I definately hope warrior can come out with the "Kremlin" pattern for retail in the future as i would be the first to buy. back to my AK27 with my "self-curved" blades for now. :p
dunc19 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2011 Warrior KGBFlex: 70Curve:Kremlin (Ovechkin Authentic)Height: 5'10''Weight: 150Age: 15Position: C/LWLevel of hockey: AAATime-frame of use: Two MonthsLooks: Decent looking stick. Warrior tends to release the more flashy graphics which I can't say I'm always a fan of. Think they got the right idea with this stick, but I don't like the "naked" looking girls on the stick. Other than that, it's a pretty smooth looking stick. Warrior nailed the colours pretty well for Ovechkin and the Caps.8/10Weight and Balance: Feels quite a bit heavier than previous sticks used (one 95, x:60) even though this intermediate model is supposed to weigh in at 444 grams. Took a while to get used to the heavier feel and the first thing you'll probably notice is that it's blade heavy. OK balance, but you'll notice much better balance in a higher end stick.7/10Blade: As the other poster said this blade feels similar to the original dolomites. However, at the bottom of the blade in the heel section it is chipping noticeably. It's not holding up too well there, as I continue to use it it looks like it'll continue to get worse. Not impressed by this at all.5/10Shaft/Flex: Shaft feels pretty good and durable, kind of like the Hitman. Feels a little heavier once again but this isn't considered a "high end" stick because it's mid price point. Really nice shape to the shaft with the concave walls, it feels "right" to me in terms of how a shaft would feel. Flex feels great, a bit stiffer than 70 and I didn't cut it down. I like the whip to it but it feels a bit more stiff.Stickhandling and Passing: Stickhandling feels natural with this stick. It's something about the stick itself that makes me so comfortable when I have the puck on my stick. It was tough the first few ice times with the Kremlin curve as it was a big jump from my P92. Once you get the feel to the curve stickhandling feels great. Passing was really hard to get used to also, but after a few ice times it will feel pretty good. You can get good sauce out of the Kremlin curve but sometimes when I try to pass it along the ice it jumps up on me because of the sand wedge curve. 8/10Shooting: Great stick for shooting. With the whippier flex I get a lot of power into my shots. With the Kremlin curve you have to be careful to keep it down but one you get used to it you'll have great accuracy. It's a piece of cake to go upstairs. Backhands suck with the Kremlin curve it's a flutter more often than not. That's the only thing I don't like about this curve.9/10Durability: Stick is like any other in terms of durability except for the blade. As mentioned earlier the chips are not normal, it seems like the stick was poorly made there. Normal wear and tear on the stick and it's still holding up great..7/10Overall: Overall this is a decent hockey stick. For the mid price point you are getting a very good stick. I only usually buy high end hockey sticks, but I went with the KGB to give the authentic Ovechkin curve a try. I only bought the stick for the curve offered, and if your itching to try the authentic Ovechkin then you should give this stick a try. I won't be going back to this stick in the future and it's only a limited edition. I think this curve is a bit too much for me but I may have to consider a CCM in this pattern when they are released.7/
kyleo29 58 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 Warrior KGBFlex: 85Curve: kremlinHeight: 5'8"Weight: 170Age: 29Position: RW/CLevel: Beer leagueTime frame of use: 3 monthsLooks: This is the non grip stick and the graphics are a bit different from the grip version. Very loud. Girls, stars and bright blue are all over this stick. Im not a fan of the looks but i know there are a lot of people out there that like the warrior graphics. and it beats the dragons that were on my last dolomite so its got that going for it.5/10Weight and Balance: If you are coming from a high end stick it will feel pretty blade heavy(especially with the huge kremlin curve) but after a couple skates it feels pretty good balance is good for the price point.7/10Blade: I like the feel of this blade, i have been using dolos for a few years now and while this blade isnt as light, it does offer a very similar feel just slightly less responsive. no durability issues so far either. The curve on this stick deserves mention. it took a few skates of horrible shooting to get used to but now that im used to it im convinced its the perfect curve. great snap and accuracy off the toe, and the blade is long and flat on the backhand near the heel so you can still backhand pass and shoot pretty well. not to mention the stickhandling benefits.9/10Shaft/Flex: feels very comfortable i cant tell a difference between the kgb and my dolomite. I also really enjoy that warrior offers this stick in a clear gloss finish. Its becoming very hard to find. flex feels softer than an 85 even after i cut it down mabe 4 inches it still had a good amount of whip to it. For me its the perfect amount of whip.10/10Stickhandling/Passing: stickhandling is easy and takes no time to adapt to. passing for me is great on the stick. good on the backhand and easy to throw sauce too.9/10Shooting: this stick is great for shooting, the kremlin curve puts a lot or speed into your shot, snappers are hard and high every time. shaft loads up nicely and after 3 months still hasnt lost that new stick pop9/10Durability: So far no blade chipping or breakage. Its holding up extremely well.9/10Overall: For the price this is a great stick that is made in warriors high end mexico factory ( lower models are made in vietnam including the new dynasty) I bought this to try the kremlin curve out not really expecting much, but i have been pleasantly surprised by its performace. It is a discontinued stick so you can get them for super cheap now. stock up.9/
