Warrior Messiah Review - Ongoing Review

Recommended Posts

So as you all know, I have been a Mission guy for the past 12 years. I recently got a set of Warrior Messiah gear and wanted to give an ongoing update. Here is my first installment on the gear:

Here is my initial feedback:

Leg Pads:

  1. Really like the pre-curve of the pads and the weight.
  2. Good flexibility
  3. Liked the location of the straps, but had one strap with the hole not punched all the way through. Not a big issue, but it was exactly where I would place the buckle
  4. Elastic straps on the leg channel and knee lock are much to short (could add 1” to 1.5”). I didn’t need both straps on the calf, and feel that only one is necessary.
  5. Knee channel – Love it. This is the best design knee I have ever used. My knee rested in the correct the place and the pad rotated perfectly.
  6. Foot Channel – I wish this was not as flat, so that my skate would stay centered in the pad. I noticed a couple times the pad would over rotate and I would have to shift the pad with my hands.
  7. Toe Tie – This is just a personal thing, but I hate the cord used. A shoe lace works much better.

Blocker:

  1. Overall I liked the fit and balance of the blocker
  2. Glove – Not a big fan of the pad on the tip of the pointer finger. I thought I was going to hate this when I first put it on, but didn’t notice it as much when I played
  3. Index finger – I believe this is a bit short for me. Could be 1/4” to longer

Glove

  • I am very picky about the break of my glove, and I actually like the break on this glove. It is not exactly the break I am use to, but I believe I will like it with a little bit more break.
  • Strap adjustment: I loved all the locations of the wrist/hand straps. I would not change anything on the straps.
  • I don’t have a lot on the glove yet, but I will keep you updated.

I will keep updating on these pads, but here is my first entry.
