Pattern Help

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I just need some help with my little situation. I am currently looking for a blade for my easton shaft but I'm indecisive on what pattern I should get. I've narrowed it down to 3: thorton, hedman, and kane. First, the Hedman. This is the middle choice because it was the first thing that caught my eye, except i saw a review that said the 6K didnt hold up. Im leaning toward the Kane because it has a 6 lie. The thorton i mentioned because i am using an old 652 wood blade and i love it but the pattern changed to something i hate so this pattern is out.

You could probably tell from my choices that im looking for a CLOSED, center curve, preferably with a higher lie. I stressed closed because that is the most important part. Any suggestions or input would be great, and im going to gunzos tomorrow so I'll take a look then.

The Kane or Thornton sound like the best choice. The Hedman has a lower lie than those two. The choice between the Kane and Thornton would come down to the amount of curve depth you want. I'd go with the Kane because the recent Bauer blades (Supreme series at least) are well regarded.

I would look at the Iginla curve in Easton. It is a 5.5 lie but acts more like a 6 lie. It is a mid curve very similar to the Hedman. I've used the Iginla curve personally and like it a lot. I've read that Easton curves are off by 0.5 lie from what they are advertised (5 lie=5.5, 5.5lie=6)

I would also recommend the Heatley curve, very similar to the Iginla but it is a 5 lie.
