chrisg19 5 Report post Posted March 2, 2011 My therapist gave me a couple exercises to do. Half squats against a wall while holding something between my knees. Also step ups. These are great exercises for Patellar femoral. Anything that strengthens without introducing pain is good. The hardest thing is, to heal it properly you will really need to take time off from skating. You need to strengthen your leg without aggravating the condition. If you continue skating, the injury will get progressively worse. I know this from experience, if I had just taken a month or so off, it would have eliminated a year of so of playing mediocre hockey, because I was injured. diehardfan 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2011 Thanks for the replies so far guys.Been stretching and strengthening my leg, but the progress is slow. Also, doing foam rolling as that seem to help a lot.chrisg19, I know exactly what you are saying. I did make the mistake of returning too soon when I thought I was good to go, that only set my recovery back. This is a very frustrating injury and takes a while to recover. Pretty much wasted half of my season and playing with pain.
