flexlite 4.0 pro vs one95

Recommended Posts

Has anyone skates on both or can tell me the difference between the fit and the stiffness of the 4.0 pros vs One95s? No one carries them in my area.

I basically love my one95s (7.5D) with graf custom insoles however it could use little more width in the midfoot as i feel i can't tighten my skates in the middle as much as i like w/o it cramping my foot. Everything else fits fine except i dunno if they are just slight big now that they have broken in (should my toes touch the toe cap when i sit down?). Will the boot cut make a big difference as well? I skip the top eyelet on my one95s.

If there is another better opinion please feel free to suggest it. thanks.

I have the Flexlites 4.0s, and they are absolutely the best skate i have ever worn. I tried on the Reebok 10Ks at my LHS and they just felt cramped and didnt fit my foot well (i have a wider foot) and then i tried the 4.0s and that totally solved my problem. There was plenty of width and it was very comfortable. There is also 9 eyelets on the 4.0s, not sure if that makes a difference.

Hope you find the right skate.

I went from One55's to the Flexlite 4.0's. The One55's looked like loaves of bread in the lace area, and I was failing the pencil test. The Flexlites gave me the volume and width. I really like them a lot.

I really think you need to try them on though, Get fit if you can. Good luck.

The fit, construction and intended use of the two skates are completely different. First overall, stiffness is going to be on opposite sides of the scale. The Flexlite skate is much softer, made to be "broken in" out of the box. The ONE95 are stiff, very stiff. They will soften up slightly when breaking down, but not to the softness of the Flexlites. You will find the lateral stiffness is much softer on the Flexite. If you're playing many times a week or like the stiffness of the ONE95, stick with the ONE95 (or newer ONE100).

Fit is also different. Narrower heel on the Flexlites, more volume overall in the boot, much wider forefoot but a narrower toebox. ONE95 is midish heel, medium volume in the boot, wide forefoot with a wider toebox. Sounds like you'll benefit from the ONE95 with some manipulation of the boot (ie punching out the trouble spot). You can also try putting back in the stock insole, any aftermarket insole will shift your foot out of place in the boot. I experienced this with many skates until I decided to stop using Superfeet and go with the stock insole as my ankle bones were out of place then the padding, getting wicked nasty lace bite because my instep was higher in the boot and better volume fit overall.

It's better to work with a smaller skate and make it bigger, can't make a bigger skate fit smaller which would be the case if you went with the Flexites.
