most manufacturers have a machine much like this to test the stick to see how many shots it takes for it to break and also to see what the blade does when shooting. Hockey has many variables that a machine can not simulate. The sticks at the regular $99 and below price level are much harder to break as the composition of them is primarily fiberglass where the ones for $200 and up are more a composition of lighter weigh materials with more performance. This is a great machine for testing and making people feel at ease but really if you were given a $250+ stick that was stronger but also heavier would you honestly use it or grab one that was lighter?
