Bauer Pro Series Protective

Recommended Posts

Has anybody used this stuff? How does it compare to the old jofa pro line? Between these and the reebok shins now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I use Pro Series elbows and shins. Love them both. Both are no-frills and high protection.

Previous elbows were CCM V10. The Pro Series offer the same/slightly less mobility but I like the straps more and the comfort.

Previous shins were Rbk 6K. I like the calf protection of the Pro Series more as well as the overall fit/comfort.

I used the original Cooper Defender shoulder pads in the mid 80s, the Bauer Defender (II I think) the one's before the Bauer Pro Defender for the last 5-6 years. Recently swithed to the current Bauer Pro shoulders because I wanted something with a little more chest/abdominal protection. I play defense and tend to step in front of more than a few shots and am getting older and more fragile. They are tanks and are tremendously more substantial than my Bauer Defender's. They do weigh more than my previous one's, but there is very little loss in mobility. Mobility was the reason I had been wearing the Bauer Defenders. I liked them so much when it became time to purchase new shoulder pads for my son I bought him a pair of the Bauer Pros as well.

Edit: old ones were Bauer SBD IIs

I like them because they offer a high level of protection without sacrificing mobility in a stripped down utilitarian model. These are the pickup truck of shoulder pads, no bells and whistles, fancy colours or look driven designs here. The shoulder caps are definitely anything but low profile and if that's your thing then these aren't for you.
