Hominoid = "manlike species" but not suspected as being a direct ancestor

Australopithicus Africanus....partial small manlike hominoid found on one of Leakey's expeditions in Olduvai Gorge, Kenya as I recall.

Cataclysmic Cosmic events....meteor/comet impacts, along with near misses to the earth from other planets or moons within the solar system.
