difference between ccm u+12 and ccm u+cl?

Recommended Posts

Hi i am thinking of buying new skates but since the bauer one100 and U+ cl are a bit too expensive, im thinking of buying the ccm u+12. What are the differences between the u+12 and the u+cl? Also, do you think its a smart decision to buy the ccm u+12 if it fits well? is it a durable skate?

Also whats the difference between the U+cl's u foam pro spec and the u+ 12's u foam?

I own the U+12, main differences off my head is stiffness, country of origin, and I think the liner. I can't speak for the foam on the CL but the U+12 foam molds perfect as CCM advertises and I personally love the skates. You can't go wrong with the skate if it fits your foot.

I own the 12's, too. I spent a day at my LHS getting fitted and went back and forth between the CL's and the 12's. In the end, I just couldn't find $200 worth of difference.

The CL's felt like they had more foam on the inside, so they hugged my foot better out of the box but the 12's still had plenty. Both felt really stiff walking around the store. The higher end materials in the CL might make for a longer lasting or lighter skate but a few grams of weight isn't going to get me into the NHL.
