new skates or just need work?

i wanted to get into hockey about a year ago after not being able to afford it growing up. visited darkstar and got fitted for a vapor x20 in a 9EE. they fit well in store, and have been good to me over the past year as i have started to learn how to skate. however, over the past two weeks or so i have started to have some pain in the sides of my feet. is it worth trying to have these punched out, or should i get fitted for another pair and take a step up in quality now that i know i am sticking with the game?

i feel pressure on the sides of both of my feet, at the widest part of my foot right around the midpoint. its not excruciating, but it is bothersome

I think it's definitely worth getting them punched/stretched.

Had the same problem with some Grafs. had them punched out and it helped alot. Worth a shot. If that doesn't work I'd consider trying other skates out.
