TOUR THOR BX PRO

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried these out? I cant find any reviews on any websites. Im looking for new skates and kinda hesitant about the humm'r set up(all 80 mm) I tried on a friends tours and it felt like I was going to fall backwards compared to my missions. Ive read so many good things about the all 80 setup that I figured I would just try and get used to it.

Also, would it be worth it to get the Thor BX's or just get the Carbon Pros from last year and save 80 bucks?

I love Tour's and am a straght-80 guy, but would not buy below the GX7 if you are serious or weigh in that 200+ area.

I have friends that have the Carbon Pro's and they often run into bent chassis issues. The chassis used on GX7 and higher series is much better not to mention the boot, bearings/wheels, etc.

IMO, the best way to tell if you get the good chassis or not is if it comes with 1 pc axels or 2 pc. Maybe it is co-incidence, but all of the Tour skates with 2 pc axels have had issues with bending and denting.

thanks man, I know with all skate brands theres that cutoff point where the products really slip off. i thought the bx would be it. I am finally back into the game and I want a good pair of skates that last so I am willing to boost to that gx7 if it means I wont have issues.

I also started playing ice hockey and I think the all 80s will help me get used to skating on ice more so than the hi-los. Well I guess I should say it wont take me long to get my ice legs back after spending all weekend on the inline rink.

Sounds like you got some good advice on the Tour inlines. However your point on "getting used to skating on ice"... Any solid chassis Inline skate whether humm'r, vanguard, Hilo... They will all cause a transition issue between Inline and ice skates. As ice skates have a rocker and inlines don't! The best way to adapt or rather, transition between the 2, is to convert to Sprung Chassis, they are the only chassis that have a similar type of "rocker" feel to them for inlines. Read some of the the "Sprung Hockey" thread on this forum to learn more.

yeah i know about sprung. however they are constantly sold out and quite frankly I dont have the cash to spend $500 total on skates. The daily transition will continue haha. Oh well.

After many years of using Mission skates, I recently changed to Tour because my last pair of missions fell abart after 6 years (D2C) and I don't like the new mission look. I have a wide foot and was told Tour is a wider skate. I bought the Carbon Pro's for $120.00, thinking I couldn't lose at that price. I have played almost two seasons and some pickups in them and have had absolutely no problems with them. I have taken a number of shots to the chassis and have no dents. I just ordered a pair of the Thor BX skates hoping they are just as good, if not better.

I will let you know how they are after I use them a bit.

Skated on the Thor BX's for the first time tonight and had no pain in the feet. They feel just as good as my carbon pros. Took 2 shots off the chassis and they have no problems...even took a solid slapper and they stood strong. I say they are a great buy and would recommend them.

Sounds good man, our league here actually plays with a ball....I know pretty girly..but im not worried about slappers off the chassis. Ive been skating on my friends cheap tours, dunno the model, 808 or something just to get the feel of wheels all the same size. When i put the missions back on it feels like im skating in sludge. I think the all 80 is going to drastically help my game. Thanks for the feedback.

Are the BX's pretty light?

They seem pretty light to me.

Played again last night. They are still a little stiff, but work great. Once they break in they'll be awesome I'm sure.
