Skate tongue raplacement

I have a pair of one100 le size 8.5d with white tukks (coach made me) I want to replace the tongues from San Jose sharpening profiling. Black leather with white felt I cant decide how much longer than stock I want them to be I was thinking some wheres around 1.5" or 2" longer. I'm trying to decide now and order them to have them put on between the semester cause I will have a few weeks off from hockey.
