Comparison of new runner technologies - Nitinol, NanoGlide, BlackEdge

Recommended Posts

I've read a number of topics on here lately about the new runner technologies that are emerging, specifically Nitinol, NanoGlide, and BlackEdge. But I still don't have a good grasp on what the differences are both amongst these technologies and between the technologies and traditional stainless steel. Is there some basic description of each type of technology or a succinct comparison of the advantages/disadvantages of each type of technology?

As I understand it, Nitinol is a Titanium Nickel alloy, which makes it harder and stronger. BlackEdge is a steel that is carbon coated. There are a few threads in here that by some of the gurus talking about BlackEdge. Not to sure about Nitinol
