one100 ankle pain

Recommended Posts

So I've had these skates for a few months now.

No pains, no problems up until 2 weeks ago, every time i put them on I get an excruciating pain in my right ankle.

Not my sock bundled up, not my tongue twisted to the the side, no plastic popping out, I dont know what the heck it is.

So every first period Its me fighting the pain, until it goes numb, any ideas what this could be??

Possibly your skates need to be punched out in that exact spot, the same thing happened to my friend with his total ones on his inside ankle bones on both feet. He got them punched out and they are perfect now.

I have a pair of pro-stock One95s that I love in every way other than the fact that they have abnormally thin ankle padding (Nik Grossman must be one tough SOB) that totally kills my bony ankles. I take and put a thin piece of neoprene (like from those thigh or back "wraps" they sell at Academy Sports or Dicks Sports) that I have cut into a 3" square right over the ankle bone and it seems to work well for me. If I am really sore (like from 1-2 skates a day when coaching a team or 2 and then playing), I use a 4"x6" piece and fold it over to get 2 layers. I place the neoprene inside my thin sock before I put my skate on. I use super thin side-specific ankle-cut running socks as skate socks, so a little of the pad usually sticks out of the top of the sock, but it's never noticeable once I tie the skates. Now, if I forget the pad, as soon as I crank the ankles down, I really notice the pads NOT being there...
