Hip Protection

Recommended Posts

I currently wear the X60 girdle which is perfect for a lot of things. I am looking to add some hip protection and would like to go the way of compression shorts with added padding.

Anyone have experience with any that worked out well? I have done some research and would not like like spend for than 50 or 60 dollars.

I use these - http://hockeymonkey.ecomm-search.com/redirect?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hockeymonkey.com%2Ffarrell-hockey-7650-compression-shorts-with-velcro.html - in addition to my X60 girdle and the combination keeps me from feeling anything when I go down. It is even enough to protect my very sensitive hip, which suffers from bursitis after a bad fall a couple years ago.

the farrell pads or the alkali would provide a lot of extra padding (i use the alkali ca9 for inline hockey). if you are looking for something less bulky since you already have ice pants, try these:

they also make very light and breathable football jocks that have padding

Might also look into McDavid Hexpads. Made for football to be a replacement for the hip and thigh pads in pants, so might provide even more protection than those made as supplemental pads for hockey. I used them back in high school (for football, not hockey) and they were very mobile, I hardly could tell I was wearing them.
