CCM U+10 or U+12

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what the major differences are between U+10 and the U+12 skates. Also has anyone went from Bauer to CCM, how was that transition? Currently I have a pair of Bauer one70's and I did find that they were a little loose in some area's while being too tight in others, mainly too loose around the mid boot and too tight around the ankles, how do the CCM's fit.

just depends on your foot. U+12 is just a bit stiffer and like AIREAYE said they require the heat fit. If you have the One70's and are used to those, then go with the U+10's. still really good skates at a cheaper price. Hell, you may not even like how the CCMs fit

Thanks for the replies. When I bought my one70's it was because I had bent over the ankle in the Vapors I had and I needed a quick replacement. I play about 4 or 5 times a week and they really didn't hold up too well and that was expected, I didn't pay much for them. Having said that I was just wondering what the difference in quality between the U+12's and the 10's are. The reason I'm asking is that where I'm at there's about 100 dollars worth of difference, if they are basically the same I'll save my money, but if the 12's will hold up better or have more foam for a better fit I'd spend it.

In my opinion, the jump from the U+10 to the 12 for your frequency of play would definitely be worth it. The quality of bake would be that much more beneficial. If you played once or twice a week however, maybe the $100 might not be worth the same.

I would spend the extra and get the 12s. 12s are pretty much a top of the line skate and closer to the CLs than they are to the 10s as far as build and features. You get a lot for $100. My sons had his 12s for over a year & a half skating 4-5 times a week. There still going strong. If I replaced them today, it would be with another pair.

Remember the stance of a pair of CCMs is much different than that of a pair of Bauers. I went from CCM to Kors with the Pitch3 blade at +1 and then to Bauers. I had to get a shim in the heel to replicate the stance of the CCMs & Kors. I don't think it's such an easy fix going the other way.
