EQ20 skates for 8 year old mite?

Given my son grows out of skates, going on 3rd pair in 2 years, long before they break down is the EQ20 junior skate a good model for mite level hockey? He's coming form a pair of Bauer x3.0 skates, but the EQ20's are dirt cheap at Hockeymonkey. I certainly don't wish to impede his development by going with the cheaper skate, but he grows out of gear so quickly. Maybe I'm over thinking the gear.

Anyway, suggestions are appreciated.

If he fits the bauer just try a lower model and see what happens. Why play with fit if he's not complaining.

Get him whatever fits best. Even though he fit into Vapors previously doesn't guarantee he will fit into them once more.

can't you get in a system like play it again sports where youth skates usually cost a fraction of the new price + you can return them when your child has grown out of them? could allow you to get a higher quality product at a lower price point...
