Closest Ice boot to the Mission AC2

Recommended Posts

Which brand will give me a similair feel and fit to that of the Mission Inhaler line? I rarely am able to play on ice, but I am looking for a comparable skate for when I do. Since they wont be used often I am considering grabbing a high end used pair from Play It Again or Craigslist. Have ice boots improved as much as inline boots in the past few years? If so whats the latest year skate that would be a good buy?

I'd look at the Bauer Supreme line.

Also, this is quite off-topic, but do you really think that inline boots have progressed over the past few years? Apart from visuals and marketing buzzword features, they have pretty much been congruent with their ice boot counterparts. Skates designed from the ground-up for the inline game are definitely in the minority these days (i.e., Alkali).

what's your ice rink temperature? I froze my toes last winter without air vents, so with... I would not give it a try.

I would go first with bauer's supreme line, and then move on from there. I'd say that ever since the one95 came out, the skates only have minor tweaks compared to that level of performance. other brands & models progressed to that point from that time (2007-2008), and I think that today's u+cl still aren't as good as one95

Not to help the de-rail but...Yes I personally believe so. If you go back and look at inline skates vs the equivilent price point ice boot, I would tend to say that you would always end up getting a much stiffer ice boot for the money. With how much wear there are on inlines because of the amount of friction and torque, I higher quality outsole and a stiffer boot go a long way. Plus the introduction of the magnesium chassis was a game changer for me.
