Bagge

opinions on a few mid level sticks please

Recommended Posts

Thats helpful, thanks.

Leaning towards the Mako M2.

Also found TPS Adrenaline shaft (or so I believe, the details of the description on the site is somewhat lacking) for just a tad more, without blade though so that'd add some extra cost. Was there only one model of that shaft made? Reason I'm asking is it lists flexes as STIFF (145), REGULAR (120), and STRONG - WHIP (no # mentioned) which leaves quite some discrepancy with the flex chart at MSH, unless this model was an exception. Either way, would this shaft be a good deal at about €80 ($110 ish)?

Decisions, decisions...

I loved my Adrenaline shaft. It felt pretty much the same to me as the good TPS XN10 sticks mentioned earlier in the thread. In my opinion, it performed as well as other top end shafts that were made more recently. TPS used some different flex ratings a while ago, I'd focus on the description of the (stiff, regular, etc.) in deciding if you want to get it). Does the site tell you which flex is available?

The Adrenaline shaft might be overkill for what you're looking to use it for. Like others have mentioned, I think a mid range stick would be just fine for your intended purpose. Even though I was a fan of the Adrenaline shaft, I wouldn't buy it without knowing what kinds of blades I could get easily, and at what cost. Make sure that you get the right kind of blade to fit the shaft (tapered vs. standard). My Adrenaline shaft was tapered. I'm not sure if they made a standard version. The Adrenaline shaft is very light and could feel blade-heavy if paired with a wooden blade or a lower-end composite blade.
