Silver paint on lower end of stick/ blade

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I have noticed on a few NHL players sticks have silver paint on the lower end of stick towards the blade. Kieth yandle does this as well as Richards from New York. I assumed they do it to keep a better eye on the puck but wasn't sure. Does anyone know why this is done?

Thanks

I believe Thornton was forced to do it to cover up the seam on his two piece. A friend of the team told me this, but we all know what they say about rumors.

Are you sure its not the paint on the Synergy SE 16 that a lot of these guys use? I'm pretty sure that was Yandles stick of choice at one point.

If you're suggesting they're using the actual paint Easton used on the stick and are getting supplied with it directly, that's just not true. It's just plain spray paint from Home Depot or wherever. If Yandle did use the SE16 like you say, that's maybe why he's doing it, and what I meant by personal preference. He liked the color combo, and whatever he's using now isn't to his liking, so he just sprays it to whatever he likes.
