Help Identifying '72 Summit Series Player!

Recommended Posts

My Dad and I have been watching this commercial (Nike Force Fate-2010) over and over and we can't figure out who the player or coach is at 0:31 seconds with the Canada '72 pin on his chest. We've looked all over the internet and no one seems to know. I've heard Paul Henderson but it really doesn't look like him. Johnny Bower didn't play in that tournament. It's isn't Serge Savard, Yvan Cournoyer, Ellis, Clarke, or either Mahovlich. I'm just really curious and has me looking all over. SOMEONE HELP ME!!! haha.

Yea, it's possible. But, there is some symbolism with the '72 pin he is wearing and his position between legit Canadian hockey stars. I just can't see them finding some random old guy to represent that series.

I saw this topic and spent like an hour going through all the players on that roster and I had absolutely no luck

hahaha, same. I emailed Nike to ask and I haven't gotten a response. Honestly, I think I'm going to email the Hockey Hall of Fame to ask them.

Yea, I've looked around at pictures of Sinden and I don't think it's him. I guess it could be a random guy, but seems weird for nike.

I got bored again last night and remembered this thread. I went through pictures of every player/coach associated with that team and I don't think it's any of them.

I got an email from Nike. The first people to look at it didn't know so they are contacting some people that were involved in making it. They said that it was someone on the 72' team but they couldn't tell me who until they verified it. Awesome.
