Adding side hand protection to blocker

OK I'm tired of repeatedly getting hit in the wrist on the thumb side on the blocker hand. It always happens when I attempt to poke check someone and they shoot at the last moment. The shot invariably travels up the direction of the goal stick and hits me in the wrist area. I have a Bauer Reactor 6 blocker that I like (mostly because it is paid for..) is it possible to add side hand protection to the blocker glove? Kind of like the new Eagle and Vaughn blockers have. You can add padding anywhere you want if you put some thought to it. Not trying to knock this board but you should check out Goaliestore.com for any info regarding goaltending. Especially mods done to goalie equipment.
