RBZ shin & elbow pad sizing

Recommended Posts

So I'm looking at switching out of my current pads, Bauer Nexus 1000 shins (14") and Bauer Vapor x7.0 elbow pads (M, though they're a little too small), to RBZ or RBZ 150s. Does anyone know how the CCM RBZ line compares size wise with what I have? I've read they're a little smaller so I'm thinking 15" and L should work. Checked with my LHS, don't carry the RBZ line.

If it helps my shin is 14.5" from middle of knee down to where I like my pads to sit on my skates- I tuck/cover/pad out/insert your favorite way to say my shin pads go over my skate here. Elbow pads I measure 14" from bicep guard to glove and the x7.0s I have now leave a small gap and are tight on my arm.

Second possibility for elbow pads are the Easton HSX. Anyone have experience with them? I've found a few reviews- all positive- but that's all.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

I've just recently purchased CCM RBZ shin guards. I'm about 5'11", and I got 15" CCM RBZ shin guards. They come down to just above my ankle. These shin guards have a great strapping system, so I would definitely recommend them. I was first planning to get a Reebok 20K, but I read reviews that their straps are inadequate and definitely require taping, which I was trying to avoid.

The CCM RBZs can definitely be worn without having to tape them over.

I've also tried on 16" CCM RBZs and thought they were way too long and would interfere with my skates. However, I tuck my shin guards in behind the tongues of my skates. These shin guards are pretty narrow at the bottom, so I'm not even sure it's possible to wear them over the skates.
