Kgbeast 195 Report post Posted September 20, 2016 As anyone knows, Cobra NT3000 runner retainer nut has a propensity to get undone after some skating. One of the most known fixes is to add some goo to the screw threads. Some do proper threadlocker such as Locktite, some use a nail polish. Locktite is obviously a solid fix, but it can cause damage to the bras thread and opens a possiblity of ovrrtightening. I want to add yet one more potential fix. The screw and nut assembly comes with two knurled lock washers. What I did is I replaced the top knurled washer with 0.28x0.06 o-ring from Lowes. Tighten the nut until the bottom knurled washer stopped spinning (you can feel that) plus about anoter additional half turn against the o-ring. The nut stays put now even if I do heel carves and skate on heavily scarred bumpy ice. Removing the nut is as easy as the stock config, once it is loose, you can undo it with your finger. Also it is hard to overtighten as once the o-ring engages, it feels that it is enough. If anyone can try this and let me know if it works for you or not, it would be great.
