Alpha Nemsis

I was looking for reviews on the shaft, but no dice. I was just wondering what peopels thoughts are on them, and if anyone has used one please share. I can get one for $100 CAD, so I was thinking about picking one up.

I've messed around with one at a couple of Drop in sessions.

They are Not the worst shaft out there, and while they have the Vybe inserts in them, what really sets the Alpha's apart is the total package - shaft AND Vybe Blade.

If you're lucky you may still be able to find a comlpete Alpha OPS for CDN $100 (they went fast when everyone picked up on it though).

If you can find a Vybe Blade (Sport Chek had them - they were pricey though) you'll get as close to the OPS as possible.

As a shaft they are decent, but you may find the finish degrades quicker than you would like (a problem for the Alpha).

Hope this helps a bit.....

The closest thing that I can compare it too would probably be a Redlite. The alpha does have dampeners but both are standard shafts with a concave shape.

I saw them at Sportchek last week for $100cdn. Not alot to choose from. They had about 4 in LH and 1 in RH.

are you talking about the alpha nemesis shaft? or the nemesis 1.0 shaft (silver with blue and green graphics)? i went and got one of the nemesis 1.0 shafts for $40 before the alpha's were released. i don't think there's anything special about it except for the grip at the top fading to non-grip at the bottom. Also...it broke two blades (the second one on the first shot i took with it...but it was just a wood blade though).

but the alpha doesn't look that special either. it's just a standard shaft with nothing great about it IMO. it's not particularly light or whippy. I have the OPS, and like mentoined already, it's only special because of the padding on the blade.

The Alpha Nemesis shaft has additional Vybe inserts in the shaft.

The combination of the Vybe insert in the shaft plus the Vybe insert in the blade are what make the combination work. There are a few reviews on the OPS in the review section explaining how it works.

The inserts in the shaft have merit, especially in a thinner-walled, concave shaft like the Alpha - as demonstrated in TPS's newest OPS - The Adrenaline (See review of 2005 TPS catalog).

I'm not promoting the shaft in any way - just pointing out that there is in fact a difference.
