Cracking noise in an R2?

Anyone know what it could be? Every time I flex it it makes a small cracking noise. It is not the glue either, because the sound comes from wherever my bottom hand is when I flex it. I've moved it up and down, and it happens right where the bottom hand it every time. I've never had this happen before. If anyone has experienced this before, let me know what the result was.
