wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 I am in need of a new pair of pants. I have a pair of Sherwood 7900 series pants that I love, but are nearing the end. I bought them for the hip protection (#1 priority). Anyway, I was looking through my 7 year oldson's old equipment and came across a pair of Itech pants from a few years back. They were HP100's I think, and although they were around $35 new, pound for pound they were a nice pant. To make a long story longer......does Itech make a nice high end pant? I have never seen an adult pair in stores.
kosydar 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 I've had a couple pair of the HP 7000s and a pair of the HP 8000 (Junior team folded and had a bunch of left over pants). I really liked them, I think they are definitely worth looking into.
wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 How is the weight?
kosydar 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Not bad. A little on the heavy side, but nothing outrageous. They are very protective, so in this situation, I'll gladly sacrifice a little bit of weight in return for good performance, fit, protection, and durability. tanguay40 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 I think I had one of those, not quite sure what exact model was. When I used them, I didn't think they were so bad, but after using a pair of Tacklas and a Bauer, they're far the worst pants I've used. I agree, it does its job with protection, but the pants were really heavy and had really narrow legs, but I guess the width is just personal preference. See, that's how I felt after trying a pair of Bauer 5000 w/ gel inserts. I thought those had the worst hip and tail protection in a $100 pair of pants I had ever seen.
