DrMolotov 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 Went to the London Knights vs Brampton Battallion game last night.... Both teams are first place in their respective OHL conferences and they played like it. London had goals from Dan Fritsche, Robbie Schremp, and Corey Perry and there were 5 players who played in the World Junior Championship. Too bad Mississauga lost to Toronto or there would have been a three way tie for first in the East.Playoffs are just around the corner and the hockey is top notch.... NHL who?London are now 24 - 3 - 0 - 0 on the road and 25 - 1 - 2 - 0 at home and 117-25-8-2 giving them the best record in all of hockey over the last two years. Where are all the OHL fans? Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 Missy has been playing that great from what I've seen lately. Is Dennis the started for London now? I could never figure out why Brampton did so well, I always though them, along with Wolski are overrated. This year they are doing much better than I would've expected. DrMolotov 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 Dennis did start in nets, didn't look brilliant to me but he played effectively and whenever he did give up a big rebound the Knight defense cleared the puck with ease. Brampton has 11 rookies in their lineup so they will be a big factor in years to come, not to mention the average size of the players is over 6' and 190 lbs. I believe the reason they are so successful has to be Coach Stan Butler, he just gets them ready to play. And you're right about Mississauga, they play hard but they are small and more a finesse team and I don't think they have the team but still a underdog to slip into the Memorial Cup. hip check 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 I'm an OHL (entire CHL actually) fan. Living in London the streak the Knights were on was big news. It' s nice to see some more focus on the CHL with the NHL in their little hissy-fit. I listened to the Knights/Battalion game last night on my way out of town to my own game. Would liked to have been there.... sounded like a good game.

DrMolotov 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 Its great hockey, fast, lots of hitting, good mix of skill and these kids are giving their all trying to get themselves drafted. How the hell did London lose to Guelph? I guess Ryan MacDonald wanted to show them up for trading him.For those of you from London, when do the Memorial Cup tickets go on sale? Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 From what I've seen Lodon is always played tough by Guelph. They had a great semi's series last year which I think has carried over. Whoever gets to watch Guelph keep an eye on that Parent kid. Everytime I see him I am more impressed.
