ya his list of acomplishments in the NHL or in international hockey sure isnt to impressive I think I'll still remember him giving Belarus their own Miracle On Ice

He won a gold Medal at the Olympics. He was an NHL all-star twice. Can't really fault him for playing on bad NHL teams. I never thought he was great, but he did accomplish alot more than most European goalies.

his olympic victory was with non NHL players all though its still the Olympics and he accomplished more then European goalies of his time but know the new genertation of European goalies are coming and I think they will acomplsih more then Salo ever did

what's left? A Stanley cup? Although it's crucial to have good goaltending, it won't gaurantee or win you a cup alone. I don't think he was a great goalie, but he wasn't bad by any stretch. If anything his list of accomplishments is great. Go through the league and pick out how many goalies, in this era, have been to the Allstar game twice, and won a gold medal, let alone in a Shootout.
