Ongoing questions of a goalie and his new pads

So I'm playing goalie for a ball hockey team and I just received my first pair of actual goalie pads, mission helium pros. Very nice pads but as they are my first pair I'm going to have a few questions as I try them out.

My first question is in regards to the boot. The boot seems very steep, like It's not broken in. Is there anyway to break in the boot or at least make it so the boot is more parallel to the ground.
