  1. Just went out and checked out some of the inventory for the Bruin's sale. Highlight for me was the Ference ClassicOnes. cant find a size, but 280 holder so ballpark Sz 9. Also at least one pair of brown WC gloves.
  2. For the second year in a row, we'll be holding the Boston Bruins Equipment Sale at a Pure Hockey location. This year it will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at our Medford, MA store location, right in the heart of Medford Square at 70 Salem St. The sale will start at 9am and go as long as there's equipment. Last year it went pretty fast. This location is nicely situated right off of Route 93 and easy to find. You'll be able to park at City Hall, right across the street, so parking is plentiful. We'll have a great assortment of practice jerseys, training camp jerseys (with player names on the back), sticks, skates, helmets, protective, goalie, socks....the whole nine yards. Come visit! Here's the equipment list for the Bruins Equipment Sale. October 13 @ 9am at Pure Hockey, Medford, MA - Black Helmets (16) - White Helmets (12) - Gloves (92) - Socks, Yellow and White (550 pair) - Skates (27 pair) - Hockey Pants (14) - Shoulder Pads (33) - Elbow Pads (5) - Goalie Leg Pads (2 pair) - Goalie Blockers (4) - Goalie Gloves (2) - Goalie Pants (9) - Hockey Sticks (82) - Colored Team Practice Jerseys (33) - White Training Camp Jerseys (59, all with names) - Black Training Camp Jerseys (58 total, 57 with names)
  3. We once had a store lose power during a storm, the guys closed the door and hung out, to see if the power would come back on since it was the middle of the day. Someone came to the door and knocked, we went out and explained that we had lost power blah blah blah... Customer: I have a game in an hour, Can you just sharpen my skates? Employee: Sir, we have no power that's why we had to close down Customer: Come on I just need them sharpened it'll only take a few minutes Employee: Sir we have no power, we can't sharpen skates. Customer: Come on it's quick I have a game, just help me out. Employee: The machine is electric it won't work without power Customer: Whatever ( And left) No matter what, we just couldn't get the guy to make the connection between having no power and it's effect on the skate sharpening machine. He was convinced we just didn't feel like helping him out. To this day still makes me laugh a bit
  4. The G35s had one of Graf's early composite outsoles on them. The first pair the toe box ripped off and the second the outsole just eventually seperated and tore off the boot. Admittedly, I didn't take as great care of them as inlines as I did using them for ice, but they just didn't hold up great. They had the older style, less stiff boot, and it just wasn't made for the kind of torsion inline brings. The outer materials also didn't hold up great. A lot more abuse and friction in Inline. My XXXX's have held up great. The boot is obviously much stiffer and the outer materials. Honestly Graf's are a tough skate for any conversion, even just going Cobra to TUUK, just because they are designed for screws not rivets, so the outsoles dont hold up as well, especially if they have been used before. Great, comfortable skate, but I would recommend being very careful if you really want to try to convert them, and to definitely use some sort of sole reinforcement, like a washer to make the conversion.
  5. I did a couple pairs of Graf G35s with Mission Vanguards (Sadly since retired). Currently Wearing Vapor XXXX's With a mission Magnesium that I absolutely love. Also did a pair of One95's with Mission Mag similar to English's for a teammate. Next pair I'm thinking of taking my Custom S17 Ice boot and putting the Mission Mag on them.
