  1. Ha, yeah I haven't played with em yet. Just got them today but getting anything with teal on a stock model is so rare. Helps that they're in a model of glove I already own and like.

I'm jealous. I only play beer league, so white gloves aren't really a big deal. I just have bricks for hands :P

  2. Bauer Vapor X7.0 special edition gloves paired with my team's jersey. Always tough finding teal in retail glove colorways. Never had white gloves before but I like the model (have a pair in the retail all black too).

I don't think I'd ever have the balls to wear white gloves on the ice, but those are HOT. I'm a sucker for teal.

    Pants: Graf G700

    Skates: Bauer X15

  4. We get that helmet trick all the time. Our policy is no swaps for stuff not bought at our store. Would you go to Sears and ask them to swap out a lawnmower you bought at Home Depot??? And a broken one at that? It boggles me how people try to scam LHS's.

Customer comes in, "My son won a pair of skates in a raffle" (umm, where haven't I heard this before), can you size him so I know what size to get him. Me: "Nope". Not even two days later, guy I play hockey with comes in, " I won this skate in a raffle...." Had the balls to want me to mold them for free. Sorry, can't do that, that'll be $50 please, and $20 for first sharpening. The gall of some people, why lie, why not just say they bought the skates online, how much to size, mold and sharpen?

    20 bucks to sharpen?

  5. Ready to go for tonight's game. Along with a remembrance for my mom who we lost on Wednesday. I need to get away and forget about things for a while and tonight should help.

Damn...sorry to hear that. My mom had breast cancer back in the early 90s and fortunately she is a survivor. However, my grandfather passed away last thursday night.

  6. I had a pair of Bauer X60 Team Canada gloves. they were the tinyest 12 inch glove I've ever seen. the thumb was very tight. if you're between a 12 and 13 like me you've GOT to upsize in the Bauer gloves.

I currently wear 13" Bauers, but I do have some room in them. My fiance has a pair of 12" Tacklas and they are snug but not too tight on my hand.

  7. I picked these up off Craigslist today for $20. I just couldn't help my self.

Are those the 12" gloves that were just on ebay? I was watching them, because I dig the colors. I'm not sure if a 12" glove would be too small though, and I don't have 30 bucks.

  8. I bought 2 of them and have been using them for about 3 weeks now. I had one break on shot block (the guy had a REALLY REALLY hard slap shot, had one bruise my shin through my shin pads on another block). other than that, the stick is really great for its price. it feels as light as a totalone. i wouldnt say im a pro but im an above average player. the stick has increased my wrist shot a lot, but im still trying to find the right point for my slapper. im used to a 102 flex stick and going down to a 85-90 could be that difference. puck feel is lacking a bit, but i still love the sticks and would probably keep ordering them without a thought if i didnt have to go through the pain of shipping to canada.

i broke my stick last thursday and it being the holidays(for americans) i havent received an e-mail back yet about my warranty, so im hoping the customer service pulls through here soon. i was asking quite a few questions before i bought the sticks through e-mail and i always had replies back within 24 hours.

Have you used their legacy sticks at all? I can get a free basic stick with the legacy stick right now cheaper than I can just get the elite. I'm far from an advanced player, so I don't know if I'd be able to take advantage of the benefits the Elite stick may have over the Legacy. Having the basic would allow me to have a backup and try a couple different curves.

  9. I'd definitely hit the ice a few times. It's totally different skating in players gear(let alone goalie gear. I don't play goalie), but you need to be comfortable on the ice before you'll be comfortable playing the puck. I just play in C league, but the biggest thing I've noticed is how much of a difference it makes when someone can skate. I've honestly seen guys that can stand in one spot and play with the puck and they luck good...until they start to try to move around. I've heard many times from different people who have played goalie and coached, that the goalie on a team should be the best skater.
