  1. I didn't. Maybe if they offer it again around Christmas/new year's. I love the look, but can't find any feedback on them anywhere.
  2. I'm seeing that Verbero is offering 50% off their entire site, including skates. I haven't seen any reviews on the Cypress inline skates. From the looks of the specs, they look great. Does anyone have any info on performance?
  3. I just picked up a pair of Max+ in 9.5. Sitting flat footed, I can feel my toes ever so slightly touching the toe cap. How much space can I expect to gain atter baking?
  4. 9.5 Alkali RPD Max+ on order. I don't know how they did it, but Hockey Monkey has ridiculous prices. I'll keep everyone updated. Thank you all again for all your time and effort in this process. It's much appreciated.
  5. Alright, I ran into an issue, hahahaha. Using the "foot on the wall" method, my right foot is 27.3cm and my left is 27.6cm. Using InlineWarehouse's "foot on the floor" method, both my feet are about 29.2cm. Using InlineWarehouse's sizing chart, that creates a pretty big variance. I'll try the "foot on the floor" method again, just to make sure the pen is absolutely straight and not angled in either direction. Thanks again for taking the time with me. I really appreciate it!
  6. Althoma- in my x100s, I've got a finger at most if I push my toes all the way forward unlaced. I think I was between the 9.5 and 10s when I tried them on, and we went with the 10s to play it safe, give room for socks, etc. I currently wear socks with my Missions, but that's more out of necessity than preference.
  7. Is anyone familiar with how Alkali skates are sized? I'm looking to pick up the RPD Max+ online and would prefer to get the right size the first time. I'm currently using sz 9.5 '08 Mission Boss, and sz 10 Bauer x100 for ice. I'm leaning toward the 9.5, due to how heat moldable I hear they are. I haven't found a local store that has them in stock, which makes things a little more complicated, and hockey monkey doesn't cover return shipping. Thanks guys!
  8. My 2008 Mission Boss' (size 9.5) are on their last legs and I would like to stay in the same quality range if not upgrade. I missed the boat on the Verbero Vortex, and the new Cypress are too pricy. I'd like to stay in the $300-400 range. Would I be better off buying a whole new skate or building off of the magnesium chassis from my current skates? I'd appreciate any/all insight.
  9. I did demo a 1X and Reckoner yesterday. I hated the 1X and fell in love with the Reckoner. The problem there is I can't afford either one and I'm not sure how either stick translates to last year's models.
  10. Where are you seeing this price? I can't find them for less than $130. Also, not in my curve. I did see an APX2 for $130, so that might be in the running as well, if my curve is in stock.
  11. I hunted down a deal on both sticks, and would appreciate some input. The 30K is $90, the X80 is $70, so not a huge difference in price. My initial leaning is toward the 30K, as it looks to be a higher grade stick with better materials. But, as I said, I'd love to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks!
  12. Yeah, I'm definitely looking for a more low flex. I'm by no means keeping it strictly Bauer, it was just the one that caught my eye offering what I was looking for. If you have other suggestions, I'm definitely open.
  13. Bauer makes the claim that this stick is more resistant to the blade twisting under loads, keeping shots more accurate. Basically, claiming the "top" and "bottom" of the stick are stronger than the sides.
  14. Looking at the construction, reviews, etc., there's been a lot made of a lower kick point and the QRT build of the newer Vapors. Between that, and the other tech built in for puck feel and lack of torquing, I feel it's possibly the most bang for the buck. I fully acknowledge that this all could be smoke and mirrors, but I've read the same thing on multiple sites, and people seem to love it. I'm more of a quick shot player, lots of shots off the rush/in transition. My lower hand doesn't move a whole lot, unless I have the time and presence of mind to drop it for a slapper, which isn't often.
  15. I'm currently using an Easton Z-bubble with a focus flex Sakic blade. I absolutely LOVE the stick, but I know it's on its way out. I'm a 6'1, 190lb forward that doesn't take a whole lot of slappers. From my investigating to this point, it looked like the Bauer Vapor line was going to cater best to my playing style. I wanted to throw this out to the community here for some input, any other sticks that would work best for the specifications I'm looking for. Also, I can get a really good deal on a Vapor X80 or X90, but is it worth it to jump up to a X700 or X800, assuming Bauer is the way to go? I'm looking to stay south of $150.
