  1. Inline boots need to have a more aggressive pitch, since there is no rocker like a ice blade. The forward lean of the skate puts you in a more natural skating position, which makes the player feel more balanced. We design our skates specially for roller hockey, and that is why we have that angle.

The first time you put the skates on and skate around you will feel a noticeable forward lean almost where you feel a bit unbalanced, but after you get going and really skating in them you will not notice the lean at all. Like Justin said the boot puts you in a natural skating position which well, becomes natural feeling lol. You can really tell alot of inline specific thought goes into the design of the skates.

  3. Has anyone gone from Bauer Vapors to Alkali and had an issue with the width? That's the only thing I am concerned about before I pull the trigger on a pair of CA9 RPD

I had to go down to a 6D in the CA9 from a 6.5D in RX60's....No problems with the boot, really compfy, I just can not get used to the frame on the skate.

  4. Definitely a size large pant.

Stock, I am very surprised to hear the skates don't fit. Everyone I have fit has had nothing but a great response. What was the issue?

I wear a 6.5D in X60's, I got a 6.5D in the C9's baked them properly. They just felt to loose, I tied them as tight as I could but could never get them to feel tight and comfortable.I prefer a hi-lo set up to the all 80mm set-up, that contributed to going with another set-up. Should I have down sized more? Everything I have read on the sizing lead me to the 6.5D.

  5. for pants, i'm using medium size mission commander black. should i go to medium ca5? my waist is 34. and between ca5 and ca7, which one is more ventilated?

Id go bigger, like a large. I wear a small in Mission and Bauer pants and the mens small in Alkali is way to small for me? I feel in the fit guidlines and the pants are marked as an adult small, but they are closer to a junior large. I ended up selling my CA9 skates because I never could get a good fit in them and I have these CA7 pants that dont fit at all either. i have had terriable luck with Alkali.

  6. Just picked up a par of Bauer Apx iceskates.

I have two different frames to choose from.

    1) Bauer Magnesium (from Rx-60's)

    2) Mission Vanguard Alu (standalone frame-set)

Feel like I'm more on my toes with my current Rx-60's, than with my old CCM 10.0 + Misison Vanguard conversion.

Is that because the Pitch is different between the frames, or because the pitch is different between the boots (or maybe both)?

Also would the pitch with the Apx+Mag setup be the same as the Rx-60, or do I need a heellift/shim?

I have both RX60's and APXR's and to me they feel like they have the same pitch and I have no trouble skating between the two.

I think your difference in Vanguard frame/pitch/skate fit will defiantly be different on the CCM's than on the APX and RX60's.

  7. Justin, do these skates HAVE to be heat molded? I tried them on at the shop and was getting insane heel lift (you said the heels were narrow?). Would a bake remedy this?

I noticed this as well...BUT only when I was barefoot. When I wore socks I had no issues. Maybe that was the problem.

  8. We are not selling boot only skates. When I made those comments 7 years ago, I had not give the all 80mm chassis a fair chance. In my opinion, both Hi-Lo and 80mm chassis are good options.

I agree, I have skated a good amount of time on hi-lo and 80mm set-ups and both have pro's and cons of course, but I could skate well on either at any time given a few minutes to get adjusted to each.
