Yeah I’m tall, heavy and on the Konixx band wagon as well.

All the top wheels were killing my performance, gave pure +2 a try and it’s been a game changer.

I was like 230 when i decided to try out the Konix +1 and i dont really care for them. They are fast, and I have to give them credit for durability but the grip and stability are not there for me.

As a heavy skater, best wheel i've ever used was the Orange Addictions. They lasted maybe 2.5 - 3 seasons before they chunked out.

  2. I'm with the bubble wrap folks. I've shipped a bunch of sticks this way and never had a problem. I trace out the shape of the blade on two small pieces of cardboard (cut it out a little bigger then your tracing) and then tape them on the front and back on the blade to protect it. Wrap everything in a couple layers of bubble wrap, tape the crap out of it with shipping tape. I usually put the shipping label on the blade. Done

I really dont think there's any advantage to frankensteining a box together vs just wrapping it.  Also, it's surprisingly affordable to ship this way.

The Pacioretty (W71) is a deep banana type curve. Deeper than the W03 and not as open. The pictures are a little deceiving but a friend has one and it's more of a deep mid curve than a P92/W03.

thanks, what characteristics would a deeper curve bring?

  4. Caught a great deal on a QRL, but it's in a W71 which i have no experience with. If i have my choice, I usually go with W03 / Crosby / Ovi.

From the IW description, it just seems like the W71 is maybe a sixteenth deeper in the curve? Otherwise they look pretty similar.

Anyone familiar enough to offer a comparison?

  5. If the decision was purely based on bang for the buck, I think you'd have a hard time beating the Shifts. Found some on Amazon for well under $300.

The thing that ended up getting me was the fit. I have a narrow heel and RPD's felt a bit wider than my old CA's. Ended up going with Mission's just on fit.
