  1. First time on my new pair took a clearing pass off the heel... it cracked the carbon where it hit. A bit bummed about that. But anyways... it seemed like there was a lot of extra room in there. Does anyone know of a good thick insole I could put in there to help make it smaller. My foot is Kinda weird. I noticed a bit of lace bite on the top eyelit. Just looking to make these purfect
  2. Just got a pair of 2s for half price. Thanks total hockey!! The box says 10 min at 200 but I swear I saw somewhere that for non easton ovens it's 6 min at 200. Just getting a second opinion. And should I really tie them tight to get a closer fit or just regular?
  3. I understand that. The LHS won't bake before the buy... no need for the attitude man
  4. Tried on a pair of 8.5D not baked. Tied them up and walked around a bit. The balls of my feet started to hurt. I presume some of this is from the aggressive pitch but still seemed a bit tight. Should I give the 8.5EE a try or should be fine after the bake with the 8.5D. That's the size I'm in now
  5. Hergs I also am a ref and in the market for a pair of makos. How are the original skates holding up with reffing. With all the durability issues I've been reading in here.
  6. I am in the market for a new pair of skates and feel a bit of loyalty towards Easton. Currently I am skating on a pair of Easton Air skates from way back 10+ ago. They haven't fallen apart and feel like a glove but it's just time for a new pair. I've tried on the mako m8 at the LHS without a bake and thought they were my next pair. I have read a bit on here about the M7 and how they are softer than the other 2 models. I ref 6+ games a week and have been on the ice for 26 years. What I'm getting at I guess is should I wait and try to get a good deal on ebay on some Mako 2s or M8... or just go with the M7 with a bake, sharpening and a warrantee at the LHS. Also, for those that get a custom radius on their runners... did you end up keeping the same radius on the mako. Seeing as the pitch is greater in them.
