Just now, Healthyscratch said:If I live in the North East US, where can I go to visit a BASE location? There used to be 4 or so, now there is none.
No, I'm not driving to Toronto.
We went separate ways with some of the locations out there. At the moment there is not a good answer for you. Our product is still available to order, and I can help you with that if you have an idea of what you are looking for. As far as fittings, there is always a possibility of a mobile fitting, where we come to you. If the numbers make sense we could likely arrange something.

I am attempting to work with a customer interested in getting his pro stock Ovechkin released as a BASE retail LH and RH. As with other patterns that we have released, I am gauging the support to see if there is enough interest to move forward. I have been told by the customer that this is NOT the crazy Ovechkin and that this pattern is more playable. I will attach pictures of the sample he would provide. If interested please chime in and also spread the word so we could make this happen and available to everyone.

But if it's like the 28's I've seen from other manufacturers, they're not a 5 on the same scale as the E4/PM9 even though they're often labeled as 5's.
If it's labeled as a 4 and has a lie similar to the E4, then I'd happily go for that. I don't care what the number is as much as I do the actual geometry.
Our BC28 is supposed to be an exact clone of E28.

In addition, if the interest is still there we plan to move forward with Kovalev pro. For those who need information on this, reach out to me. Thanks everyone. Your support will hopefully bring more patterns to our database!

45 minutes ago, flip12 said:Yes, times 10. In a little lower lie, on par with Easton E4. What they call a 5 on the E28 is closer to a 5.5: significantly higher than my Easton Malkin pros which are noticeably higher than the E4...I suspect they're similar to BASE's BC71: 5.25.
We offer it in what we label lie 5. I'm gathering feedback to see if whether lie 6 or 4 would get bigger interest.

Any interest in a BC28 in a new lie? Please weigh in with feedback

I'm still working on a Kovalev pro release. I need to get a count on blades and OPS interest to see if we can make it happen.

5 hours ago, flip12 said:Is there a threshold for blade orders that could to met instead of the 24 OPS to trigger the release of one of these patterns?
The neighborhood of 60-70 and we could release LH and RH versions. If I can get 50+ blades or a combination of blades and OPS that I think will put us close, I'll try and get this going.

I never got an official count as most people were interested in blades only initially. I'd love to see Kovalev, Kovalchuck, Gionta and Coffey released. These patterns get a bit of chatter but a solid backing isn't there as of yet.

Hey guys, we have Polar Fibre back in stock.

It's hard to nail down a lie since it's very rockered but here's a few photos next to a BC92 lie 6. I clamped 2 sticks together to try and keep consistency.

Here is a photo looking down from the top. I mirrored it in photoshop to help visualize a RH version. It definitely looks different looking down from the top as opposed to looking down the shaft.

Here are 4 photos of our actual Kovalev pro that we produced in a long hosel .620 blade. This was used by Kovalev during his last year in Florida. The last photo is next to our BC92 (P92 clone).

Perron (what I call his) "Big Toe" on the top and "regular" pattern on the bottom. I'm 99% sure the regular Perron pattern is the mirrored version of the KOV1 pic Stephen posted
Perron regular on left, True TC3 on right
TC3 on bottom, Perron on top
My apologies about the picture orientation. Photobucket is being a pain in the a$$
I'll post clear photos of what he used in his last season tomorrow afternoon. I suspect everyone will be happy with what we choose. The Shanahan has exceeded expectations, and our relationship with kovalev goes back to his early years, until he retired. The pattern tweaked here and there but he generally came back to a standard and the shape and rocker never changed.

I'll be receiving an actual sample tomorrow afternoon. I will post high quality photographs of what I have. I've been told the mold we have is from his last year in Florida.. his very last pattern.

10 hours ago, Giraffe14 said:Hard to tell, but as malcb33 said, it looks like the curve in the last pic has a slight heel kink, which I am not a fan of.
Joey has confirmed there is no kink. Must be an angle thing. I'll try and get another view.

2 hours ago, chuck said:I'd be interested in this as well - if interested I can supply a Perron pro blade from his Pgh days - I can post a picture or send a sample.
Yes please post a sample. We can mold whatever version the community is in favor of.

Just letting everyone know that we are planning to do a similar program with the Kovalev/Perron Pro. If we can hit 24 OPS orders we plan to remold a blade into a short hosel tapered version. If 24 OPS (whether it be RH or LH) is hit we will release it in .520 tapered blades as well. We have our own sample Kovalev Pro on file which I will now post..
I have also been sent a sample photo from JoeyJ0506 of a Kovelev Pro from his brief stint with the Penguins at the end of the 2011 season. Here are those samples..
As with our Shanahan program, this will only happen if there is enough support or interest. If this pattern is a success I will try and keep this type of program going and collect community input and try and bring it to retail. I'm available if anyone would like more information.

5 hours ago, Fletch said:Stephen, did you play on the PepsiCo Heat back in the 90's? If so, I played against you in KOHO Cup tournaments, haha. I was on the Mission Viejo Panthers.
Wow that takes me back. I sure did. I still have my jersey in the closet..didn't want to throw that one out. I also have a little booklet with articles on some of the teams from that year. Our goalie and another teammate from that team just started playing again. Very cool, guessing you still play?

Absolutely!

2 hours ago, Rades said:I received mine yesterday, (Stephen you know who I am lol) very impressed with the stick, I got the Shanahan with the grip gloss on the shaft and grit texture on the blade; RH, awesome stick, can't wait to use it!!!
Great to hear. Keep me updated on your feedback. Perhaps next time try one of our different blade softness options. I broke a blade in a tournament over the weekend and decided to mess around last night with our stiffest blade variable with the same pattern I had been using previously in the medium softness. It was a night and day different and I was having difficulty handling hard passes. Dialing in stick flex and blade softness is HUGE. Anyway, keep in touch.

Here are a couple of photos of my new BC14 demos in LH and RH. This pattern is known as the Shanahan/P10/Kane pro/Giroux pro. Support and requests from the online community made this happen. Thanks, and enjoy! Feel free to contact me anytime.

Definitely not trying to desert this thread. Molds are not cheap to make and new patterns have a limited following. With that said, help me find a pattern that can get traction. If there's enough commitment I can get the pattern to retail. We need a poll or count going. It takes more than a handful to get something like this started. The old Shannahan pattern was easier as it had already been retail and had a definite following.
