I like the TRUE Hzrdus. The Bauer Sync is good too. Neither of them are better than the CCM FT5 Pro.

My current stick rankings are as follows (current generation sticks only) and you will notice I prefer mid kick more than low kick. I mainly take snap and wrist shots, rarely do I take slapshots.

I recently founds what I consider the best stick ever (for me) -> AS4 Pro senior shaft (shape and texture), FT5 Pro kick point, Ribcor blade, 65 flex. I like the square shaft and texture, the variable kickpoint loads easily, shoots hard, and the RIbcor blade allows for accurate shots (stays closed) and good puck feel.

    1. CCM FT5 Pro
    2. CCM AS4 Pro
    3. TRUE Catalyst PX
    4. Bauer Nexus Sync
    5. CCM Trigger 6 Pro
    6. TRUE Hzrdus PX
    7. Warrior LX Pro
    8. Warrior Covert QR5 Pro
    9. Bauer Hyperlite

I wish CCM did custom stick orders. I would love a Bauer P14 equivalent in one of their offerings.

Do you have a copy of the digital order that was submitted to CCM showing you ordered a 1/4 side and they gave you a 1/2 size?

The email would be titled "CCM Order Confirmation" and would come from DoNotReply@techmed3d.com

I actually ordered it in store at Pure Hockey, but I never got an e-mail confirmation.  But I double checked my e-mail just now and didn't see it.  I did e-mail their corporate store this weekend and they're going to reach out to CCM.  I also heard back from CCM on insta and they're going to get me in touch with someone as well, so we'll see how this works out.

The store you ordered them from should be handling this. However, given that it's been over a year, I don't think anyone will help you. How come you noticed this now, and how did you determine they are the wrong size?

Sorry, the wording made it an ambiguous time frame lol.  I actually ordered them in November and got them late January.

So I used to have a retail version of the skates in the same size, and they felt like a good fit minus the toe box area which is why I went custom.  So I opted for the same size due to how it felt, just a quarter size smaller on one of the skates.  However, upon using these, it feels like its actually half a size larger, and both tags say 6 1/2 despite the fact that my right skate was ordered in a 6 1/4.  When I had my retail versions, my toes were able to lightly brush against the toe cap, now I can't even feel it at all.

Personally I wouldn't care if they were both 6 1/2 and felt like how the retail version fit length wise.

Edit: I also live in NJ

Do you have some kind of receipt from the store that shows the size you ordered? I would assume if you have something that says "Size 8" and the box says "Size 8.5", that would be enough proof that the store made a mistake.

    Have you seen this thread?

Oh man I ordered them last year, I’ll have to see if I have the receipt still.  Thanks I’ll check the thread out

Shouldn't the store you purchased them through handle this through their regional rep?

I tried contacting them, but they said they didn't think there was anything they could do with custom orders.  Maybe ill try their corporate office and see if they say anything.

I am sorry, but I just caught this now.  Why do you think the 100K is better than both the Hyperlite and FT4 Pro?  I have a fairly wide toebox section of my foot and a high instep (high volume) foot.

I have tried on the FT4 pro in a wide fit and I like how they feel except there is not enough volume in there..

Would a Total Custom Ribcore with the Advanced Facing possibly work?

That's a possibility, but keep in mind you can also get an oversized toe box for CCM customs.

  7. Got my Mackinnon pro curve from PSHS today and off the bat I'm already impressed with the stick with how much I paid for it.  Just as light as the top end sticks and looking at the curve, it looks like it's going to work out well for me.  I can't wait to try it out in tomorrow's game.

Hyperlite is a garbage stick, the fact bauer came up with that 2 years in development after the flylite tells me alot about Bauer. I want to try one of these prosticks looks interesting at the price point

You should do a review on a PSHS stick, curious to know your thoughts.  I shared the same feelings as you regarding the hyperlite, it doesnt feel too special and loading the stick felt annoying to me.

    Yes and no.

The heel of the Hyperlite is a unique construction so you cannot fill those with epoxy. The forefoot uses standard carbon fibre. I would almost recommend building a very thin shim to sit between the heel of the holder and the outsole if you are going to drill new holes to mount the holder.

Anytime people tell me they want oversized holder on top of the line skates I always ask them "why didn't you just go custom?" A custom skate would have given you the option for a +1 holder and then you wouldn't have to tweak the structure of the skate.

Ah damn it might not be worth it then.  I had thought about going customs but was always dissuaded by store clerks saying the turn around time could be into next year (like 10 weeks).  Do you have any sort of idea how long the turn around time usually is?

  9. 3 hours ago, PBH said:

    Yes, you can do it.

However you cannot use the existing front or rear holes, because then the holder would then not mounted in the center of the boot.

    Make sense?

So I guess it would be a matter of drilling in between the holes then?  And you would just fill the gap with epoxy?

Why don't you want to skate on 246 mm length blade? The profile radius is probably the same giving you the same feel.

I like the extra height that the 254 gives me (its taller than the 246), plus I have profiled Step Blacksteel for it as well that I definitely do not want to lose.

  10. Hi all - I had to size down in my Hyperlites to a 5.5, but with that, the holder went down to a 246 (annoying since Fit 3 comes with a 254).  Would I be able to mount a 254 holder on these skates?  Just by eyeing it, it looks like the holes on the forefoot are going to overlap if I were to drill new ones.

I know putting oversized holders on skates is a thing, but I was wondering if it were possible here.

    Thanks!

Did you use the Othermove insoles in the CCM skates and are you using the standard "junk" footbeds in your Bauers?

I'm actually using Superfeet in these as those gave me a better heel lock than both the Orthomoves and the standard Bauer footbed.  I know Superfeet give you an extra pitch as well, but I didnt have the pain issue when I used these in my 100ks.

  12. Skated for the first time in my Hyperlites tonight, and man I got incredible shin pain during and after the game, like the pain is right above where the tongue ends.  Am I not getting enough support there?  I don't think its the boot stiffness, as I havent experienced this with my AS3 Pros and thats supposed to be the stiffest boot in the market.  I also never experienced this when I had my 2x Pros either.  I'm wondering if its because I sized down to a 5.5, that the boot cut might be a bit smaller?  I don't think it's my profile either.  My CCMs have a Zuperior S with a 20mm pitch, and by Bauers, since theyre a 5.5 @ 246 runners, is a Zuperior XS with a 17mm pitch.

    Any insight would be nice.

    Thanks!

  13. Hi all - I have a set of profiled steel (quad 1), but it has a neutral pitch as I accidentally selected that option.  Considering it was mail in, do I need need someone with a prosharp machine to add a pitch to it or can I take it somewhere local who doesn’t have a PS machine (trying to get it done in a pinch without the mail in wait times).  There’s a guy locally who I trust with my skates but they don’t have a prosharp machine.

    Thanks.

I refer to it as a less aggressive 28 with a flatter rocker, or a more aggressive 92 with a bit more hook on the toe and a 5 lie. I switched from the 28 and never looked back. It helped solve some issues I had with the 28. Which I fully admit may have been I just don't have the hands to get the most out of the 28.

Cant say how it compares to an 88.

How does the lie compare to a P28?  I'm using an FT4 Pro right now in a P28, but maybe id pick up a spare in a P90TM if the lie is the same.
