I'm new to the board (long time lurker). I ordered the Vortex 2's 6 weeks ago (still not here). Once they arrive, I'll do a full review.

6 weeks is not normal. I'll mention this to customer service and have them get in touch with you ASAP.

  2. Hi Stewie, you are correct in that the Vortex 2 custom will be boot only and can be used for ice or inline.

Skinni, the current skates are naturally wide fitting but can expand (or contract) for a wider or more narrow fit when heat molded in any skate oven. Please PM me if you have more questions regarding fit.

  3. Hey guys, sorry for the delay on updates. We're making big strides on our Cypress skate line that will be coming out in 2017.

As for the custom skates, the volume has also been improved and we're hoping they'll be available very soon, maybe in the next few weeks, fingers crossed. The skates will have a number of custom options available.

any MSH group discount to try out the skates on the cheaper ;) you have my attention with the one piece boot and stiffness but dont know how well the build quality is and there are like no reviews on the skate that is the only thing holding me from pulling the trigger on them. Also how does the current vortex ice skate fit in terms of bauer lines i know you said earlier its fits like a nexus but is that with the tongue on the second button or the first. and speaking of the tongue is it just one button and velcro that keep the tongue attach? does it hold up to sticks and pucks hitting the tongue area

It's really hard to say as every personal preference is different. The fit is not exactly like a Nexus but that's the most comparable fit for that brand.

The tongue removes excess space in the toe cap if you move it to the lowest position. The highest position allows for optimal flop :)

The tongue is connected via one button and velcro. We've only had one issue with a button breaking. if that happens we would immediately fix or replace the skate.

Hope that helps. I'll be heading to Asia soon for a few weeks but while I'm gone Corby is going to respond to questions.

getting back on topic i know you said you are working on a new skate and will have more info first week of april. is it going to be a replacement to the current skate or an addition to your current lineup?

It will be in addition to the current skate. We're working on a new Vortex skate that would be available at the same time.

  6. Hi Pandada, your point is extremely valid. We've been working on ways to make our product more accessible to all. Currently we offer free shipping and free returns/exchanges on all our gloves, sticks and skates. If once received, the customer feels like they are not the right size or product, we provide an easy exchange through our site, no questions asked within the first 30 days.

I will add we're working on a custom program for our skates as well. I'm headed to the factory one week from today and will have more info when I return in early April.

  7. Thank you for the feedback guys. We're working on a new line of products as soon as they're ready we'll be looking forward to getting them into the hands of players to review. In the meantime, there are some reviews on YouTube and on blogs. We're happy to see that most of them are quite positive. However, we do appreciate negative feedback and have taken a lot of the given suggestions into account for our new products.

  8. Hi Sawchuk, the boot on our Vortex is very heat moldable and it's also very wide. It's more similar to a Nexus but not exactly the same. If you have an extremely narrow foot it may not be the best choice.

Also, some of our newer skates will have several different fit options. The new fit would be like if a Vapor and a VH had a baby ;)  Although we try not to be like other companies, we strive to be aware of what the customer likes the best.

  9. Hi guys, we're working on a variety of new skates for ice and inline. I'm sorry I haven't been too vocal on here.

I'll try to throw out more information during our development process.

Not sure what bad reviews you're referring too. We had one person who reviewed a product over a year ago. We have since made many updates to our stock models.

  10. I'm trying to decide on what ice boot to get for my first conversion. Tried on Bauer one70 and Graf (not sure which model) last night and both felt good. Which would hold up better for inline playing 3-4 times per week? I'm concerned with durability.

    thanks!

From my experience, Graf doesn't seem to hold up as well for Inline. the One70's are fairly stiff and may be a good choice, especially if you're playing that often.
