  1. I agree with the majority here.  I picked up some new skates, had them sharpened, and gave em a try.  Felt terrible, like you said, like I was learning to skate again.  Turns out my old skates had a 9' radius and the new had a 10'. If that's even what they were anymore, as I never had the radius maintained.  I reached out to a credible company and filled out their player profile form.  I was suggested a triple radius and forward pitch which I ended up trying.  Night and day difference and it was even better than I felt on my 9' radius.  Pick someone who is credible and give it a try.  Technology is amazing and the way your skates can be tailored to your specific wants and needs is unreal.

  2. Just picked up a set of the SP 2.0s.  Initial impression is I like em.  The way they mold and initial feel is really good.  Cleans up negative space in the skate and feels like it will off just the right amount of support for me.  Standard inserts feel flat and uncomfortable and my Superfeet feel good at first, but then give me outer foot pain.  The SP feel good so far.  Should get some ice time on them this week.

  3. Make sure you get the fit correct too.  I recently went to a store and was able to take advantage of the Bauer electronic fit station.  The machine showed me in a 9.5D Vapor line, but the employee fit me at a 10-10.5 using the old method.  Tracing foot at home method showed me in a 10.  I ended up going with a 10.5 Supreme 2S because of how they felt in the store.  After skating on them a couple times it was obvious they were too big.  Now I've got a 9.5 Supreme 2S. There is no negative space in the skate after baking and the skate feels like its molded on my foot, with great heel lock (I also purchased Bauer Speedplates).  So be careful of how they feel in the store, because like you asked, they will break in and feel different afterwards.  I was amazed what a huge difference in feel there is between a 9.5 and 10.5.

  4. I have it and have used it. Honestly, if you are going to pick up a couple other items from them and want to give it a try, go for it, but I wouldnt't make a special order for it (and pay that shipping) and would suggest getting only one bottle to try. In my experience it does make the surface slightly slicker, more important is keeping the surface clean from dust from the sharpening and keeping the felt on the bottom of your holder clean of that debris as well. I think I have applied it once in the last year.

  5. lol Just called them. Initially I was told they have never heard of this issue and the person I spoke with would talk to some of the other guys there and call me back. Shortly after that I received a call back and was told this was normal and it happens on all of their machines, even the larger ones. I'm not sure this should be normal, but ok. I guess if I was having issues sharpening the skates I would worry more but Im not. No regrets on this machine at all.

  6. Hey guys, I have an X01 that Ive had now for a couple months. I dont claim to be a pro by any means but I am able to get a pretty decent and level edge (better than the local rink can provide anyway) and using a 90/75 FBV spinner. My question though. Like mentioned above, I am able to get decent edges but have noticed something with my wheel. After using the Fine Shine for the final pass it leaves a dark residue on the wheel (not the issue) but I have noticed this dark line does not go around the entire wheel, almost like the wheel is out of round. To the best of my recollection this has occured from day one and this is my first wheel, so Im not sure if its the wheel or something else. I have tried several times to do a pretty significant dressing thinking it would resolve this but it never does. Like I said, this is my first wheel and I have another ready to go but haven't used it yet. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this something I should call Blackstone about? Thanks in advance.
